Abstract

The paper presents an analytical-numerical model for the two-dimensional slow flow between two cylinders, the inner one, of circular cross-section, rotating with constant angular velocity, and the outer one of arbitrary shape, being at rest. The problem is formulated in terms of the Stokes equations with the condition of periodic pressure gradient on the surface of the inner cylinder and non-slip condition on the surface of inner and outer cylinders. The analytical- numerical solution for the stream function is obtained with the help of an adaptive collocation procedure. The domain of practical applications of the model are journal bearings. 1 Introduction
