Abstract
An identification problem is considered for detecting the location of a single heat source in a body in the steady state of heat conduction. The detection is based on the partial observation of temperatures and heat fluxes on part of the surface. The boundary element method and high order finite difference method are used for a computational tool with the benefit of their high accuracy. Numerical results are presented to show the usefulness of the proposed method for identification. 1 Introduction Let Ω be a domain with its boundary Γ in R2 with the x1x2−rectangu
