Abstract
Fihrr reiiiforced concrete plays rnore and more important role iu structures, such as hi~t~oric rnortars, undergrolmtl structures, foundation engineering, etc. 'The most of processes leading to a determination of material p r o p erties is based on experimental laboratory tests, which suffer from many disadva.nt,a.ges. Laboratory tests are either scale modeling: then a relatively cheap results can be rexhed, but the real behavior of the structure can principally be different from t,ha.t. obtained from 1abora.tory test,, or inodeling witall real sainples of the structure: then expensive hut more reliable results are winnpd. It seams that a better solution can consists of coupled numerical and experimental rrroctels.
