Abstract
Experimental evaluation on fatigue-creep interaction J . L. Pacheco Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Pontificia Universidade Catdlica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department, Brazil Abstract Mechanical systems components such as pipelines, steam generators, boilers, pressure vessels, gas turbine and steam turbine are subject to fatigue-creep crack assisted interaction. The scope of this work is to establish an experimental methodology which can give theoretical support for modeling life prediction and structural integrity analysis. Mechanical fracture tests were described in precracked specimens of API P22 steel. The tests were made by ASTM E-399 norm. the (C,), parameter was calculated as a (daldt) function for used and virgin material. It was possible to separate the contributions to the crack growth: one caused by fatigue and another one caused by creep, for used and virgin materials. We can conclude that it is not possible to evalu
