Abstract
Numerical approach to characterise superficially heat treated steels. O. Bartier, A. Nayebi, G. Mauvoisin & R. It is based on a mixture law written from the ratio between the plastic energy dissipated in the substrate and the plastic energy dissipated in the hardened layer. A relationship between load, displacement, flow stress and strain hardening exponent of heat treated materials with a hard film, is given. This method is based on the error minimisation between the experimental curve (load-displacement of the indenter) and the theoretical curve, which is a function of mechanical and geometrical properties of the studied materials. Comparison of the numerical results with those experimentally obtained on different materials, confirms the interest of the proposed method. 1 Introduction Sur
