Abstract
The need for research concerning particle-turbulence interaction in gas-particle flows is increasing with requirements of industry. During recent years, circulating fluidized bed boilers have grown larger leading to severe mixing and secondary air jet penetration problems. Therefore it is important to study particle-turbulence interaction and jet penetration in gas-particle flows. Experimental results are needed in order to develop and verify models needed in numerical modeling of gas-particle flows. In this paper, measured results concerning the effect of particles on different components of turbulence and jet penetration in a gas-particle cross flow are presented. The basic reason for the research in this paper is the mixing problem in a large ci
