Abstract

After an examination of the different applications cases of composite materials in civil engineering, we consider the different design methods of reinforced-composite concrete and prestressed-composite concrete beams: specific finite elements or non- linear analytical methods. We particularly examine the main problems which concern modeling of interface between concrete and composite sheet. We show that the perfect evaluation of non- linear behavior law of each component (concrete, steel rebars, interface) is very important for a good prediction of beam deflection.
