Abstract
An experimental-numerical method is presented, which can be used for the characterization of microphenomena in composite materials. The method is based on the measurement of displacements of material points on the micronscale, and numerical simulations of the experiments to find material constants, using an iterative procedure. Displacements of a grid of markers, created with the electron beam of a Scanning Electron Microscope, were measured during in-situ experiments in the SEM. The position of the boundary markers were used to define the geometry of the model, and their displacements were used as boundary conditions. The method has been used to estimate mechanical properties of interphases and the d
