Abstract

Plasma-Splay ceramic coating is expected to be applied as TBC (1). However, in high temperature environment, various problems such as oxidation, corrosion. erosion and so on, have been experienced. When applying ceramics coating to actual components, it is very important to understand their degradation characteristics including adhesion properties. Therefore, in this paper the tensile tests of the specimens degraded by oxidation reaction with the number of thermal cycles were carried out. Then dependency of crack initiation a stress and exfoliation stress upon the number of heat cycles is investigated.
