Abstract
The Dual Boundary Element formulation for modelling of crack growth in reinforced concrete is presented. The influence of reinforcements on the concrete can be considered as a body forces or attachment forces which are confined to a straight line instead of being distributed over the whole domain. The solution for these attachment forces is obtained from the condition that the deformations of the concrete and the reinforcement under the action of the external loading are compatible. The fictitious crack model is employed to represent the fracture of concrete in which the fracture zone is replaced by a closing
