Abstract

Linear stress analysis can be easily solved by the boundary element method. However, in general, domain integrals are necessary to solve the elastoplastic problem with initial strain. This paper shows that the elastoplastic problem can be solved by the improved multiple-reciprocity boundary element method without internal cells. In this method, the dis- tribution of initial strain or initial stress in each step of the bound- ary element method for the elastoplastic problem is interpolated by the integral equation. 1 Introduction If the internal cells for domain integrals are used, the elastoplastic problem can be solved by the boundary element method (BEM). However, by this method the merit of BEM, in which the prepar
