Abstract
An eccentrically cracked strip loaded by antiplane tearing in an elastic-perfectly plastic material has been analysed by using the near crack line analysis method.The conventional assumption of the small scale yielding that the existance of the plastic zone causes the elastic field to move a distance along the crack line has been abandoned.By matching the general solutions of the plastic fields with the established elastic fields at the elastic-plastic boundary near the crack line,expressions of the plastic strains,the length of the plastic zone and the unit normal vector of the elastic-plastic boundary have been obtained.Some numerical results have been given. 1 Introduction The improved near crack line analysis method,which has been
