Abstract
Annual sulphur deposition in the forest of Vallombrosa (Tuscan Apennines) was calculated using two methods. In the first one, time-variable emission inventory and hourly meteorological data are used, applying the gaussian model AVACTA over an area of 1760 KrrA Then, deposition and concentration originating from European countries and Italian emissions are evaluated by the regional model RAINS of IIASA. Total deposition and the contribution of local, national and transboundary emissions is estimated and compared with experimental data. This procedure could be a proposal for estimating the effects of regional or national policies on environmental parameters. 1 Introduction Emissions
