Abstract

Intensive dust- and gas-emission after mass explosions in open pits leads to a great pollution of the environment inside as well as outside the open pits. Above all, topography of the locality and geometry of the object have a considerable influence on process of dispersion of the plume. Inasmuch as the process of dispersion of dust and gas plume consists of 2 temporal stages, the calculations are divided into 2 stages, correspondingly: the forming of the plume just after explosion and its dispersion in the atmosphere. It is expediently to use semi-empirical formulas for calculation of the first stage. On the next stage the transport and diffusion
