Abstract
The influence of geometrical and micro-meteorological parameters on the structure of the flows within street canyons and their capability to exchange pollutants with the atmosphere is studied by means of systematic numerical simulations. While the flow regime classification popularized by Oke has been shown to relatively well chracterize the atmospheric flows in the lowest layer over the roofs, within the street canyons a second classification - based on the arrangement of the large vortices - is needed to render pollutant dispersion within the streets and outwards. In addition, wall temperature appears to have significant influence on in-street flow regimes and vertical
