Abstract
This paper presents the results of the "Quarter" research. It therefore reports on the objectives of the research (definition of a quality system for the management of territorial risks) and the methods used for its development. In particular, the following points are defined: 1 the aim of the research as required by those who commissioned it (quality system application); 2 the choice of a standard to be adopted as a frame of reference and the available alternatives (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or OHSAS 18001), as well as the territorial implementation; 3 the basic documentation drawn up by way of exemplification (manual, management and operating procedures, instructions, technical specifications) with the respective guidelines. Moreover, the interconnections between the several disciplines studying different types of territorial risk and the management system are pointed out and summarised into a global evaluation, thus overcoming individual problems. This paper concludes by pointing out the steps that prospective users should take in order to set up and implement the system. Keywords: environmental management system, standards, certification. 1 Introduction The need to research and define a territorial risk management system was expressed by both the leader and the members of the research team when defining the research topic.
