Abstract
ADREA-EY, a general code for simulation of three-dimensional flow in water bodies of complex bathymetry under meteorological forcing, is presented. The code is based on a finite volume technique and the equations are expressed in Cartesian coordinates. Specific features include the capability to treat free- surface flows and non-hydrostatic situations. Test problems and comparison with laboratory experiments in idealized geometry are included, in order to validate specific capabilities of the code. Finally, as an application in complex natural geometry, the homogeneous, wind-induced flow which develops in Amvrakikos Gulf, Greece, is calculated. 1 Introduction Different methods for the three-dimensional simulation of flow in natural water bodies
