Abstract
Outdoor dry abrasive blasting is considered to be a significantly polluting activity, since particulate matter and hazardous air pollutants are emitted into the ambient air during the operation. In the absence of limits in the Greek environmental legislation that would control the emissions of abrasive blasting units, it is important to estimate emission factors based on the abrasive material and the method used. This paper describes the methodology and the results of a procedure that was developed in order to estimate particulate emission factors of slag and mineral abrasives. The emission factors are based on actual air emission data from High Volume Sampler filters that were collected during the industrial tests. The results were combined
