Abstract
Environmental management can be considered as a part of the major components of environmental law, which contribute broad functions to achieve sustainable environmental management in Malaysia. In fact, there are several agencies or bodies in Malaysia that are involved in environmental management inter alia: the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHLG), especially the Department of Local Government (DLG), the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (MOSTE), especially the Department of Environment (DOE), Local Authorities (LA) such as Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Penang Town Council (MPPP), and also the private agency such as Kualiti Alam (KA) and Alam Sekitar Malaysia (ASMA).
