Abstract
This work examines the effect of applying a scaling rule and considering hysteresis on the simulation of the transport of LNAPL in a porous media . The computer program, NAPL Simulator was used to model the multiphase flow. The results indicate that the simulation yields the minimum error if the characteristic curve of the air-water pair is used as a referenced curve to compute the characteristic curve of other fluid pairs by scaling rule in the simulation. The results also show that more LNAPL leaked into the subsurface when the hysteresis effect is ignored. Additionally, the initial water content also significantly affected the spatial distribution of LNAPL in the subsurface. A given amount of LN
