Waaub GREIGE, Interdisciplinary Research Group on Environmental Management, University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada Abstract This paper summarizes the progression of a collaborative project (hereafter referred to as the Project) in the field of sustainable development. It is subdivided into four parts. 1. The introduction sets up the general context of the Project, its basic concepts and its methodological orientation. 2. The objective is a clarification of the socioeconomic mechanisms that generate strategic partnerships interested in a large-scale renewal of the transportation system, at economic, social and environmental levels.
