Abstract
This work presents a methodology for evaluating air quality and the elaboration of a regional diagnosis. This is a contribution to Research and Integral Development Programs that arise from a General Diagnosis. The methodology particularly supports the stage of elaboration of regional Diagnosis, which is based on the determination of ecological Indicators, among them the air quality. The methodology consists of a series of statistical techniques in order to carry out atmospheric pollutant concentration evaluation and also the filling forms for incorporating these data to the ecological quality air indicator and also to facilitate diagnosis attainment. The techniques came from examining works that used several methods for characterize and determine air quality from aerometric data. For the technique selection, it was necessary to establish the criteria previously, they were based on ecological aspects, like temporary variation and spatial distribution, followed by the performance of a short periods and the compliance of Mexican Official air quality standards (NOM). The work proposed a sequence for the evaluation of ecological air quality indicator. The advantages of the methodology are: 1) these techniques are destined to sites with early detection monitoring systems on air quality, 2) it also broads the application of its techniques to all criteria pollutants 3) it is possible to join records for several sites for expanding the microregional to regional and zonal diagnosis, 4) the techniques can be adapted for considering the medium and long terms in order to carry out subsequent analysis, as an observation of trends and evaluation strategies for the control of this type of pollution.
