Abstract
A system to analyze tropical cyclones activity TCA, either by counting the number of tropical cyclones (NTC) or days with tropical cyclone (DTC), as a function of storm's intensity (tropical storm, hurricane class 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) was developed. The system also permits to analyze the percentage of tropical cyclones that become hurricane, and return periods associated with hurricane wind intensities. The first step to build the system was to design the TCA database, which stores all the information related with every tropical cyclone's duration, intensity and position.
