Abstract
Estimation of ionic impact by wet deposition into an ecosystem by geostatistical methods U. Ratzlaff, E. Bmggemann, T. Berndt, W. Rolle Institut fur Troposphdrenforschung e.V., ABSTRACT The deposition of H+, SO^\ NOg\ NH^+, Ca^^ and Mg2+ into pine forests is assumed to be of ecological relevance. An estimation is necessary for points without measured data but investigated by ecologists. Methods of geostatistics are used for calculating such missing values. The reliability of the estimates can be ruled out using a method well known as cross validation. Ten methods of estimation are applied on measurements from 15 stations of an existing network for six seasons. The resulting statistics show that linear regression techniques using geographic coordinates, and neighbourhood related techniques can yield reasonable results for the estimation of ionic impact into the area of investigation.
