Abstract
The estimation of missing meteorological data in a network of automatic stations F. Filippini, G. Galliani, L. Pomi Meteorological Service of Emilia-Romagna Region, Via S. Felice 25 - Bologna, Italy ABSTRACT The procedure of estimating meteorological data is presented in this paper. The variables reconstructed are: temperature (maximum, minimum, average), average humidity, minutes of leaf wetness and total hourly precipitation. The procedures are based on the combination of two elements: a) A method of estimation in which geographic location and the values of neighbouring stations are considered. This method is based on correlation matrices taken from archives. b) A method based on the general climatology of the station. The "climatological" value is introduced in auto-regressive approaches which, from reference daily values, reconstruct the typical hourly parameter oscillations for the period and location in question. The leaf wetness parame
