Abstract
The Po Plain, with the urban area of the town of Milan, a population of two millions inhabitants and characterised by an intense motor-vehicle traffic and by the presence of numerous industrial settlements, is a quite defined source of primary pollutants (such as CO, NO, VOC). In occasion of turbulence driven by the thermal convection typical of daylight hours, the pollutants mixture is diffused up to higher altitudes and then transported northwards, in the region of the lakes and preAlps, by local wind regimes of the Po Plain.
