Abstract
A one-dimensional mathematical model for the investigation of the river bed deformations is made with the aim of predicting these processes and to choose suitable actions for river bank stabilization. The model includes the steady flow solution of the energy equation and the sediment balance equation. As the slopes and the mean diameter of the river bed sediment depositions have large values only the bed-load sediments are taken into account in the sediment transport equation. The model allows variable roughness coefficients in dependence of the water surface slopes and river bed mesoforms to be considered.
