Abstract

In this study, the well capture zones are computed by means of a model based on the Random Walk method of resolution. The 2D method is first developed to be applied on a homogeneous and isotropic confined porous aquifer. The flow velocity is defined analytically. An evolutive time step is introduced in the model as an exponential formulation of the hydrodynamic dispersivity. If hydrodynamic dispersion is neglected, the results in terms of time-related capture zones correspond closely to the analytical results.
