Abstract
In this work the performance of a pilot-size continuous photocatalytic reactor with a fixed supported photo-catalyst was investigated. The experimental reactor was used to degrade refractory organic pollutants representative of real industrial liquid effluents The photocatalytic process was studied by measuring both the reactants conversion and the total organic Carbon content of the liquid phase. The influence of operating parameters like residence time, flow regime (single liquid and gas-liquid biphase), gas flowrate and oxygen concentration on the reactor efficiency was examined. The experimental results prove that the feasibility of the photocatalytic purification process can be improved by using a fi
