Abstract

This study represents the early outcomings of a research maritime trip in the Mediterranean sea. This trip was conducted by the training vessel of the Arab Academy for Science & Technology in June 1996 starting from Alexandria port. The vessel course passed Lattaquie port in Syria and the port of Napoli in Italy and terminated at Alexandria. A specially designed log was used to sample 1012 surface samples during this trip. These samples are prepared to be analyzed for three objectives; Pollution by hydrocarbons, heavy metals pollution and radioactive survey.
