Abstract
A screening model (VIM: Valutazione dell'Impatto da Multisorgenti) is presented as a method for estimating maximum ground-level concentrations in an area with many emission sources, as a function of stability, wind speed and wind direction. It is designed for a low-cost, detailed screening of a multi- source area in order to determine maximum hourly concentrations and decide whether or not the use of a more sophisticated model is required. The model is considered to be a useful tool for screen analysis as it constitutes a relatively simple evaluation technique that provides a conservative estimate of the air quality impact of a specific multi-source area. 1.
