Abstract

Lagrangian characteristics of the propagation of admixtures in the planetary boundary layer N. Gromkova, G. Djolov, D. Yordanov Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Geophysical Institute, 1113 Sofia, G. Bonchev Sir., bl. 3, Bulgaria ABSTRACT The "concentration moment" method, developed by Aris (1956) is applied to obtain a new system of differential equations directly for the basic Lagrangian characteristics describing completely the spread of pollutant in the planetary boundary layer (PEL). The numerical experiments support the quality of the realized numerical scheme. The regression analysis of the solution of dispersions by polynomial is considered. INTRODUCTION The propagation of admixtures from an instantaneous ground-level point source in the boundary layers with finite depth in which the velocity varies in horizontal and vertical direction is a classical problem in the theory of turbulent diffusio
