Prof Carlos Brebbia graduated at the University of Litoral, Argentina. He received his PhD at Southampton University, England in 1968 and worked at MIT, USA and the Central Electricity Research Laboratories, UK as well as the University of Princeton, USA.

Prof Carlos Brebbia was appointed Lecturer at the University of Southampton, UK in 1969 and a senior lecturer in 1976 before becoming a Reader in Computational Engineering. In 1979 he became Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of California at Irvine. He founded and was Chairman of Computational Mechanics and Director of Wessex Institute of Technology until his death in 2018.

Prof Carlos Brebbia wrote over 250 scientific papers, authored or co-authored 14 books and edited or co-edited over 500 other books. He was an internationally well-known specialist in numerical methods, finite and boundary elements and in the computer solution of engineering problems. Prof Carlos Brebbia founded several international journals and served as the Editor or co-editor of five scientific journals.  He carried out a great deal of consultancy work for the engineering industry as well as having participated in many international projects and conferences.

Professor. George Rzevski is an academic, entrepreneur and consultant based in London, UK. He is Professor Emeritus, Complexity Science and Design Research Group at The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK.

George began his academic career in the UK at Kingston Polytechnic, later Kingston University, where he was Professor and Founder Head of Information Systems. Until 1999 George was a full-time academic and Professor in Department of Design and Innovation at The Open University, Milton Keynes, where he was Director, Centre for the Design of Intelligent Systems. He supervised a large number of PhD projects and acted as external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in many UK university departments.

Throughout his academic career George worked as a consultant for private companies, government administrations and the EU on various issues related to advanced information technologies.

Prof. Rzevski has published widely and delivered keynote papers at numerous international conferences and also served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, published by Elsevier.

George is one of the Joint Founders of a network of advanced technology companies, which are engaged in marketing and developing multi-agent systems for adaptive allocation of resources (complexity management).
